I have a Greywater Recycling System installed in my home and we are on track to save somewhere around 75,000L this year. This is not necessarily the same level of savings that every family will see but what a great way to save water. The system basically collects water from your bath and shower and reuses it for flushing your toilets. What a great idea! Why have we been flushing drinking water down the toilet anyway?

Hey Flotender,
We use greywater collected from bath/shower for flushing toilets. We don't use greywater for irrigation. For any irrigation needs we use rainwater. Do you have any idea what the general perspective is on the reuse of greywater for irrigation in your area? Is it supported and promoted by local regulations and officials or not so much? I'm always interested to hear whether their is support for these technologies from local regulators.

 I honestly have no idea why this concept isn't already as popular as recycling paper! How do you use the greywater that you collect? Our system takes water from the shower, bathtub and washing machine and reuses it in your landscape to water your plants via drip irrigation. Because the average household uses 32% of it's water on landscape irrigation, greywater recycling is a tangible way for everyone to make an immediate difference!
